Your Vision Plans Are Ready. Are Your Patients Hearing About Them?

Membership Plan Growth

Help more patients discover your vision plans with simple conversations at scheduling, check-in, and in the optical.

September 28, 2026

You created vision plans for your practice. Your team is trained. Everything is ready to go.

But there’s one piece that can make all the difference:

Are your patients actually hearing about them?

Your patients can’t choose an option they don’t know exists. And introducing your plans doesn’t need to feel like a sales pitch.

The best conversations are often the simplest ones.

1. Introduce Your Vision Plans at Scheduling

The first opportunity may happen before the patient ever walks through your door.

When someone mentions they’re self-pay or asks about cost, give your team a simple response:

“We actually offer our own vision plans that may be a great option for you. I’d be happy to send you the information before your appointment.”

That’s it.

You’re not asking your front desk to sell a plan over the phone. You’re simply letting the patient know another option exists.

2. Bring It Up at Check-In

Patients are already thinking about the cost of their visit when they arrive.

A small sign, handout, or quick reminder from your team can start the conversation:

“Just so you know, we offer our own vision plans here at the practice. If you’re interested, I can show you the options.”

Make talking about your plans a normal part of the patient experience—not something your team only remembers occasionally.

3. Don’t Forget the Optical

Your optical team has another natural opportunity to talk about your plans.

A patient may have insurance and still discover that what they want isn’t fully covered.

Instead of ending the conversation there, your team can say:

“Your insurance doesn’t cover everything you’re looking for, but we do have our own vision plans. Let me show you what those include.”

Now the conversation isn’t about what the patient can’t get.

It’s about another option your practice can offer.

Keep Vision Plan Conversations Simple

Your team doesn’t need a complicated script.

They need to know when to bring up your plans and feel comfortable starting the conversation.

Try making these three moments part of your team’s routine:

Scheduling → Check-In → Optical

The more consistently patients hear about your plans, the more opportunities they have to choose them.

One simple goal for this week

At your next team huddle, ask:

“Are we telling every patient who could benefit from our vision plans that they’re available?”

If the answer is not always, choose one of the three moments above and make it a focus this week.

Small conversations can lead to more patients discovering an option you already worked hard to create.
